Avant Garde Aleworks

This was the first new brewery that we went to post quarantine! It was almost like life was back to normal for an hour or two! This brewery is in Estes Park and having a pint on their outdoor patio was nothing short of amazing! The patio has a great waterfall and even a really nice fire pit but the selling point here is the mountain view’s! It’s pretty close to downtown Estes Park so you could easily walk there from the shops! The staff was super friendly even with all the mask restrictions and such still in place! We tried their Pilsner, Amber Ale, Porter, Belgian Quad, and Farmhouse Saison which were, as the name suggests, really unique! My two favorites here are the Belgian Quad and the Farmhouse Saison! The Farmhouse Saison was pretty light, it has just enough tartness to keep your tastebuds salivating for another taste! The Belgian Quad on the other hand was intense! At over 11% ABV having more than one of these bad boys is not a grand idea on an empty stomach but it’s a good beer! It has a really rich malt profile that will role off your palate with a finish of a unique banana bread flavor! It really is a hearty beer that will make you question yourself as to why you have not had one of these before- almost like Ayahuasca! Okay, not really Ayahuasca isn’t legal here in the US so don’t drink that, but you get the idea! I like the simplicity of this place, they only have seven beers on tap so trying them all is pretty easy if two people both get a flight! It’s priced really reasonably and is a great place to check out- enjoy!
