Cerveceria Colorado

On Platte Street in Denver, this brewery is amongst one of my favorite concepts in the state! Their mission statement is to, …“seek to honor the traditions, flavors and culture of Mexico by utilizing traditional Mexican ingredients, flavors, and processes to create innovative styles of beer.” and they definitely deliver on this! Included in their current tap list are beers like the ¡Venga! Mexican Lager, Señor Piña Pineapple Blonde, Churro Stout, Poblano Pils, Guajillo IPA, Imperial Brandy Barrel-Aged Churro Stout, and the Horchata Blonde Ale! So there are a lot of amazing options to choose from! I didn’t try them all but I did enjoy the Señor Piña Pineapple Blonde and the Horchata Blonde Ale the most! The Señor Piña Pineapple Blonde is easy drinking to say the least, it’s flavors are very subtle yet still really easy to pick up on your palate! Fermented with pineapples and dry hopped with Mosaic hops, it’s a pretty light beer that will keep you coming back for more! My favorite is the Horchata Blonde Ale though; it’s brewed with rice, lactose sugar, flaked wheat, cinnamon, and vanilla which all really contribute to the beer actually tasting like Horchata! It’s not actually white or served on ice though so don’t freak out, it’s still definitely a blonde ale but it’s denoted by an ever so slight sweetness that is perfectly balanced to not be too overpowering at all! Still a light beer, it’s extremely refreshing and bluntly, you really just have to try it! This brewery is owned by Denver Beer Co., which is attached right next door too- which is pretty awesome especially since it’s the original Denver Beer Co. location! Cerveceria Colorado’s tap room is actually housed in Denver Beer Co.’s old barrel room, but don’t worry, there’s nothing old about it! It is expertly decorated decorated by Ramona Burns with curated pieces from Mexico and freshly painted with a mural by local artists Pedro Barrios and Jaime Molina so it’s nothing short of awesome! With the exception of chips and salsa, they don’t sell food but there is usually a food truck parked up front during the peak hours!
