Locust Cider

We stumbled upon this place accidentally when we were trying to go to Uhl Brewing Company. Uhl was super packed because it was their opening day so we took a leisurely stroll a few doors down to Locust. It’s tucked away in Boulder in the midsts of a little business district so it’s kinda hard to see if you’re on the main road. That’s nothing that Google Maps can’t fix though if you’re unfamiliar with the area! They have a lot of great high quality cider that’s really easy drinking! This Boulder location is their only one in Colorado but they have other locations in Washington State and Texas; which begs the question: is this really a local business? I say yes, even though they have over ten tap rooms they’re still a family owned small business, they’re just a bit bigger. Most notably, their company mission is to use their taprooms as a vehicle to improve the lives of children diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. A portion of all their sales go towards helping this cause, so for the owners it’s not all about money. Back to the cider, the Honey Pear was my favorite! It’s crisp, subtly sweet, and has a finish outlined with you guessed it- honey and pear! We got a flight so we were able to taste a bunch of what they had to offer! The Watermelon, Vanilla Bean, and Dark Maple were all delicious in their own unique way! It is kind of pricey though, especially if you get a flight, but taking into consideration the fact that they’re donating a portion of all sales towards a great cause it makes it worth it! This isn’t my favorite cidery but it is still worth checking out, especially if you’re in Boulder!
