Imagine this: you’re driving down I-25 and are looking for somewhere to wet your whistle. You take the exit onto 120th and are surrounded by chain restaurants! You’re trapped, no where to go! In a last ditch attempt to flee you try to turn around by the Applebees and boom, you see a sign posted that says, “Brewery” with an arrow! Ahhh Salvation at last! You follow the sign but to your right you see a funeral home and an open field to the left! Damn! I’ve been bamboozled- you cry! Until… wait… what is this? A small businesses complex… your weary eyes lock on to a sign that reads Mystic Mountain Distillery and right next to that Satire Brewing Company! That’s how the magic begins! Once you enter this place it’s like your in a classic English Pub, almost. The decor is simply inviting and it’s lit just bright enough to fuel an unrivaled ambiance! The staff are extremely friendly and more than willing to help you find exactly what you are looking for. They even give you beer samples in wine glasses- how posh! Their beers are always rotating and usually have distinct names that you will remember. My favorite brew here is by far the Monkey Spank, it has hints of banana with a subtle clove taste that is followed by an underlying remnants of bubble-gum. It’s really unlike any hefeweizen that you have ever tried. All their beers are pretty unique and definitely worth a try! Their food is also pretty unique and hearty- I recommend getting the Squirrel Package. There’s not actually any squirrel meat don’t worry! They’re kind of like cannolis but not really, you have to try them! Also, something to keep in mind is that the brewery and the distillery are seperate businesses so don’t try to walk into the distillery with a pint in hand! More importantly though, 10% of their total sales are donated to local charity! They even let you pick the charity that you want to support! This place is awesome, the people are great, their beers are all high quality and brewed with passion!
